In June, I reported that the Shake Shack chain plans to open an outpost on Canal Street—but at the tipster’s request, I didn’t specify where. He/she no longer sees reason to hold back: The build-out is underway, and anyhow, a commenter already spilled the beans. It’s at 304 Canal, in the former home of Pearl Paint.

We’ll have to wait for the official confirmation.
