Seen & Heard: Homeless Surge

••• “Since the beginning of the summer, the New York City Rescue Mission has been faced with an unprecedented surge in the volume of hurting and homeless neighbors passing through our doors,” says a press release from the organization. “We are now preparing meals for almost 600 every day, and providing shelter to over 200. Demand for our services has doubled since the beginning of 2016.” Why not offer financial help? Donate now.

••• On Thursday, Dec. 8, photographer Alexey Titarenko will be at Soho Photo to “discuss his seminal series City of Shadows, created in St. Petersburg in the early 1990s during the collapse of the Soviet Union.” And seven solo shows open at the gallery on Dec. 7. ••• I was starting to worry that the top of 19 Park Place was going to remain unfinished, but then I (re-?)discovered a rendering. The top three floors appear to be mechanicals.

  2. That rendering of 19 Park Place is hilarious. The views from the building will certainly be better if they succeed in tearing down all surrounding high rises first.
