••• As if the placard parking problem isn’t bad enough, “The New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association issues the placards to any MD who forks over $400 a year for a ‘membership.’ About 2,000 doctors statewide have joined, the PBA says.” And then there’s “the New York State Police Investigators Association [which] boasts 300 members in its ‘surgeons group.’ It charges an initial fee of $400 and $275 a year to renew.” —New York Post

St. Joseph’s Chapel on South End Avenue may shut its doors by June after the Archdiocese of New York warned that it will stop paying the $263,000-per-year rent, which Gateway Plaza Management has been charging the chapel since 2014.” —New York Post
