••• From Karen: “We have lived in Tribeca for almost 20 years and Mangez Avec Moi was always a neighborhood favorite. It was so sad that they closed up shop last year. But through a friend with a family connection, we found out that Nikone and his wife opened another restaurant back in their hometown in the Poconos! We were just there for vacation and managed to track them down. The new place is called Pathai and is located in a small strip mall in East Stroudsburg. The menu is similar to Mangez, they also serve delicious bubble tea, plus the service is impeccable as always. It was so fun to see them again and they seem very happy!”

••• The Roxy Cinema is closed for renovations; it’ll reopen in September.

••• It’s time for the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment to give Warren Street a break. Filming today: Hot Air, which is presumably this movie starring Neve Campbell and Steve Coogan: “A right wing talk show host’s life takes a sudden turn when his 16 year old niece comes crashing into his life.”

••• And filming in North Cove Marina last night: Isn’t It Romantic. “A young woman disenchanted with love mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy.” Starring Betty Gilpin, Priyanka Chopra, Liam Hemsworth, and Rebel Wilson.

••• More gentrification on Canal: According to a press release, someone bought 275 Canal for $10.5 million. “The Buyer’s plan will be to re-position the property by fully renovating the retail and office component and maximize the available signage rights on the west wall facing Canal.”

••• A smoke shop is opening at 342 Canal, just around the corner from Church.

••• Manhattan Youth sent out a survey about Pier 40. I sincerely hope that Pier 40 remains, in essence, parkland. So, no, I do not think a high school should be there. And using it for offices of any kind would be a travesty.
