  1. Re: Park Row, this is just another example of the government taking by the power of the Police. State supported closure of this vital connection artery for over a decade has happened all under the thin guise of protecting police headquarters and other buildings. This was and is nothing more than a grab for additional parking by the police department, which the DOT presentation makes clear in picture and words — “Provides space for NYPD parking”. Changing this to pedestrian and bike way ensures that this will never be opened again to normal vehicular traffic. It is a pyrrhic victory, at best, for an area that is been besieged by traffic congestion and an entitled police force.

  2. Perhaps Police Headquarters should be made smaller and/or its functions relocated to one or more of the other 4 boroughs. Somehow NYC has not burned down despite FDNY headquarters being located at MetroTech in Brooklyn.

  3. Agreed about film and TV crews. Usually I have had positive or neutral experiences with their presence, but once in a while had a rude run-in, where someone involved acted like they owned the neighborhood and was obnoxiously shouting at anyone that dared actually be walking to their home or workplace. This is a real living city, after all; the filming crews are guests in our home, and should behave appropriately with some manners and gratitude.

  4. Film crews are disasterous for businesses.

A question: why are real estate brokers allowed to
    be on our community board?
