Kiddie Academy Is Opening in Tribeca

The kid-centric microneighborhood of Reade Street has a huge new tenant. Take it away, Citybizlist:

Kiddie Academy, a nationally recognized franchisor of comprehensive educational child care programs, will soon offer Manhattan residents the opportunity to enroll their children in a new Academy located at 70-72 Reade Street in Tribeca [between Church and Broadway]. The franchisee of Kiddie Academy of Tribeca recently leased approximately 13,500 square feet of space in the building. […] The franchisee chose Tribeca for its family-oriented environment, and this particular location for its ability to accommodate classrooms, play and dining areas, and other child care uses in a cohesive unit. […] The space formerly housed the famous MacKenzie Door Company, an institution that owned the space for more than 70 years until it sold the site to real estate developer ML7 in 2015. ML7 is renovating nearly 32,000 square feet at the property into new commercial spaces, storefronts and luxury residential condominiums.

It’s shooting to open in 2018.
