Seen & Heard: Card-Only Café Chain

••• System Architects posted a neat photo of how its building at 187 Franklin looks in the snow.

••• And Balloon Saloon had some fun in the wind.

••• I don’t think the Jill Lindsey store/wellness space downstairs at 104 Reade is open—there’s nothing about it online—but there’s a price list posted on the door.

••• Added to the agenda for the Community Board 1 Licensing Committee meeting on January 10: “Street Activity Permit Office application for American Heart Association Wall Street Run and Heart Walk; Thursday, May 17, 2018; 6-7 p.m.; various streets.” That’s the event where a ton of downtown streets are closed off during rush hour.

••• The Bluestone Lane chain of cafés, which now has an outpost on Spring Street in Nolita, is no longer accepting cash. The sign reminded me that Bluestone Lane was mentioned in the recent New York Times article about the card-only trend—I didn’t include the article on the site because it was otherwise news-free.
