Seen & Heard: Yves Got More French

••• “This is circulating around the neighborhood today,”reports M.”Have you seen it, and do you know if there’s any truth behind it?” I hadn’t seen it, but it sure sounds plausible.

••• RKF has a listing for the Koh’s Kids space at 311 Greenwich, saying it’s available as of the third quarter of this year. It’s always possible that the store will stay on longer if no one rents it. Note the neighbors mentioned in the text: “Bank of America, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bluemercury, Chipotle Mexican Grill, KinderCare, Papyrus, SoulCycle, Whole Foods Market.” Nine chains.

••• The Craft Studio’s outpost at 174 Duane is actually a two-and-a-half-month pop-up. It’s hoping to open here permanently. New York Family has info on the grand opening festivities this weekend.

••• French cuisine is ascendant these days: Frenchette is opening soon, Racines has gotten Frenchier (I had a decadent cassoulet the other day), and now Yves has taken a turn toward bistro. Its dinner menu now includes salad Lyonnaise, French onion soup, escargot, bouillabaisse, sole meunière, and duck à l’orange, to name just a few items.

••• The New York City Drone Film Festival is March 3-4 at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

••• Whole Foods is getting tackier every day. (As if the CD racks weren’t bad enough.) The bars you use to separate your stuff from other people’s also tout the credit card.

  1. Advertising? In a store? What next?!?

  2. Yves should make portions bigger if they want more customers
