Seen & Heard: Duane Park Storefront for Rent

••• That’s a “store for rent” sign in the window of H&H Building Consultants at 165 Duane (51 Hudson).

••• Meanwhile, the activity at two storefronts is getting mysterious. In the first photo: The former Drill Fitness (and before that, Janovic) space at 37 Warren is being carved up with interior walls. And in the second and third photos: The former Maserati of Manhattan showroom at 1 York appears to be getting similar treatment, although in one photo, the phrase “of Manhattan” is visible on the glass, so perhaps that wall was previously there. Anyone know what’s moving into either space? Email tribecacitizen@gmail.com or text 917-209-6473.

••• The Streeteasy ad is a cute idea, but the company has an extremely outdated notion of what Tribeca is—as indicated by what the StreetEasy site considers Tribeca (second image)….

••• “A sure sign of spring?” asked N. “Workers are scrubbing the umbrellas at Loopy Doopy (the website says it’s reopening in April).” That’s the rooftop bar at the Conrad hotel in Battery Park City, if you weren’t aware.

••• Still nothing happening at the hotel at 456 Greenwich.

••• While setting off for a Field Trip in the Two Bridges neighborhood—stay tuned for that—I discovered that there’s a Starbucks on the far side of the old Verizon building at 375 Pearl. When plans were announced to change the facade of that building, I never dreamed it would end up uglier. (It’s now a telecom hotel called Intergate Manhattan.)
