••• As James noted, the sidewalk shed is now down from the Ladder 8 firehouse. Alas, one of the two Ghostbusters icons painted on the N. Moore sidewalk has been destroyed; the other one, pictured second, has survived. (At least no one removed the “Entrance around corner” sign.)

••• The third-annual Taste of Battery Park City, benefiting P.S. 89, is this Saturday along the North Cove Marina. Tickets are available here.

••• Cass Lilien reports that her Harrison Street jewelry atelier got broken into last night: “They smashed the window. I’m heartbroken.” UPDATE: “Ethan Rose Salon also had a window broken over the weekend and new graphite on the bricks in front of ARC Athletics,” commented Juliew. “Same night a several of the plants were pulled out of the window boxes along the new Alton Lane.”

••• The condo under construction at 75 W. Broadway (Warren/Murray) is still in the pit-digging phase.

••• The construction hoist on the east side of 3 World Trade Center is almost entirely gone.

    Ethan Rose Salon also had a window broken over the weekend and new graphite on the bricks in front of Arc Athletics..same night a several of the plants were pulled out of the window boxes along the new Alton Lane.

  2. Vandals broke many windows and tagged most buildings on Franklin Street a couple of weeks ago.

  3. We need to hire private security or institute a neighborhood watch/patrol program. There are a lot of bad elements infiltrating the neighborhood.
