Seen & Heard: Opening Date for the Other Oculus Plaza

••• The 1st Precinct would like your help. Anyone else find the use of all those emojis a little overly cute in this context?

••• Chef Paul Liebrandt will extend his stay at Racines till September 8. I don’t eat a lot of chicken, but there was a chicken dish on the set menu that was pretty delectable.

••• “Looks like someone is promoting a 5 World Trade Center building at Cedar and Greenwich,” emailed J. That’s the old Deutsche Bank site at 130 Liberty, just east of the St. Nicholas National Moneypit; a rendering was once released, then the project stalled. The word is that the sign (and the rendering on it) isn’t meant to be indicative of anything, likely just placed there to beautify the area in advance of 3 World Trade Center’s opening on June 11. P.S. The plaza between 3WTC and the Oculus opens that day, too.

••• From the River Project: “Meet the fishes of beautiful New York Harbor! Splash with the fishes, crabs, snails, and other animals in our Wetlab and participate in hands-on activities! Refreshments will be served and prizes will be raffled. This is a free event, but we appreciate donations at the door. Join us in the Wetlab on the south walkway of Pier 40 at Houston and West Streets. Tuesday, June 5, 4-7 p.m. For more information or to RSVP please email info@riverprojectnyc.org.”

••• Good news: Some work is actually happening on the vault lights/sidewalk outside Cast Iron House, as the conversion at 67-69 Franklin/361 Broadway is known.
