Seen & Heard: Just Baked! Is Open

••• You probably didn’t realize that what the Hudson River really needed was advertising on the water.

••• Stella posted on Instagram that it will be leaving 184 Duane in coming months. Let’s hope the shop finds a worthy home soon.

••• Added to Community Board 1’s October agendas:

—Youth & Education (Oct. 9): P.S.150 lease extension
—Licensing (Oct. 10): 86 1/2 Nassau Street, application for liquor license for Loft Candies
—Landmarks (Oct. 11): 42 Walker Street, application for one story enlargement; and 131-135 Duane Street, application to restore façade, renovate interior, and add 2-story rooftop addition

••• Just Baked! Nowakowski has opened at 88 W. Broadway. Full report to come….

••• The restaurant at the Dominick Hotel (née the Trump Soho) is undergoing another redo. The last one, Spring & Varick, survived all of 10 months. I always thought it was odd that the hotel and its restaurant were named after different streets.

••• The reader who keeps a close eye on Hudson Square noticed “new activity at the storefront on the corner of Vandam and Varick [150 Varick], the former home of ‘notorious’ nightclubs Greenhouse, and W.I.P.” Department of Buildings filings indicate it’ll be a Sherwin-Williams paint store.

  1. Two Boots never materialized at 86 1/2 Nassau. Who is trying to get that LQ license?
