••• “My husband talked to a guy who was working on the fountain where the Jeff Koons sculpture was, and he was told the sculpture would be coming back,” says Jennifer. “Apparently there was damage to the piping underneath that needed fixing.” (Photo by K.)

••• Here’s the info on Friends of Washington Market Park’s Halloween festivities:

3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest
Sponsored by The Friends of Washington Market Park, this is a free community event with prizes awarded in several categories: scariest, funniest and most creative being just a few. Bring your own jack-o-lantern to enter, or just stop by with your family to enjoy the festive display! Saturday, October 27, 4:45-6 p.m.

Halloween Parade and Party
This long-standing Tribeca tradition brings the entire neighborhood together for a parade down Greenwich Street, culminating at our huge park party with games and music. Sunday, October 28, 1-3 p.m.

And neighborhood businesses tend to welcome trick-or-treaters on the 31st. Thanks to Claudine Williams for the great photo!

••• Sophie B. Hawkins is playing upstairs at City Winery on November 15. “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover” remains a classic.
