••• What did you say? All you want for Christmas is me? Well, you got it! The process of handing over Tribeca Citizen is underway (knock on wood), but the holidays are a bit of a speed bump, so I’ll continue blogging through January 15. ••• Sure looks like Saks Off Fifth isn’t happening in the former Brooks Brothers space at 1 Liberty Plaza—all the windows have “for lease” signage up. (The photo looked crisp on my camera….)
••• You can now get a good look at 440 Washington (a.k.a. 31 Desbrosses), including all the way to the sidewalk on the north side, abutting 70 Vestry.
••• Speaking of 70 Vestry, the sidewalks on all three sides are finally open. In a nice touch, they’re putting cobblestones on part of the West Street side.
••• I don’t recall this sign being at the tiny nook of a storefront at 28 Warren, but then I usually walk on the north side of the street, from which it’s hard to get a good view of it. If even half of what’s on the sign is actually offered there, it’s impressive.
••• A good look at where 45 Park Place stands now. It’s such a tall building (43 stories) for mid-block on a side street.

So glad to hear about the continuation of TC. Will definitely miss Erik for sure. Anywho, was googling stuff for my kid to do over winter break and came across Playday. According to the website, there will be a Tribeca location, not sure where though…

The store at 28 Warren is the last of its kind remaining on the block which was once filled with similar stores. I always thought it deserved a feature in The Citizen. A true remnant of the old neighborhood.
