Tribeca Then and Now: The Unidentifiables

A big thank-you again to Jane Freeman for sharing her trove of photos from the ’80s and ’90s, and thanks to everyone (especially James and Robert Ripps) who helped place the ones that I couldn’t. As one last stab, here are the 14 remaining unidentifiables.

  1. I think #56 the 10th listed photo here is perhaps 70 Franklin Street just up from Billy’ Bakery? regards, Sonia

  2. #66

I think this is the gas station that used to be on the southeast
    corner of Canal and West.

  3. Image #12 is the Northeast corner of Washington and Canal Street which has recently been renovated and occupied by Wyeth, a furniture company. See https://goo.gl/maps/j6SNUVwEQhz

  4. Image #62 may be another view on the loading dock at the Northeast corner of Canal and Washington, pre-renovation. https://goo.gl/maps/j6SNUVwEQhz

  5. Image #62 may be another view on the loading dock at the Northeast corner of Canal and Washington, pre-renovation.

  6. I think that #5 is Vestry street just west of Greenwich on the north side of the street…one building in…

  7. Image #12 was the loading dock of the Eagle Warehouse on Laight St. #66 was the gas station on NW corner of Laight and Hudson Street. There is now a building there. These were on either side of my apartment at 46 Laight Street where I lived from 1979-2006.
