Seen & Heard: A goodbye and two hellos

MORE PROGRESS AT BOGARDUS
The crew already has the granite curbs installed for the western-most garden beds.

CLOSER TO WONDER?
The Wonder says they have no news to share yet, but they *do* have a note in the window that challenges you to find the dinosaur…

LIQUOR STORE SEEKING NEW ERA
That’s it for J. Crew’s Liquor Store. Thanks to F. for the pic. What’s next for this beauty at 2 White? Anyone?

DETOX FOR GOLDMAN
C. and J. report that Dr. Smood – the detox juicers – is coming to the former Francois Payard space in the Goldman corridor (is there an official name for that space??), across from Shake Shack, at 210 Murray. Thanks to J. for the pic. Bottoms up?

THANKS TO KINGS
Seen: The Kings staff sweeping the sidewalk of TONS of trash along their storefront and well past. This has become a real problem with the Bogardus Garden construction fence creating a wind tunnel in that stretch of Hudson.

  1. I think it’s (unofficially) referred to as Goldman Alley.

  2. Hopefully it’s not another retail store. They all seemed doomed at this point.

  3. How about a simple, cozy, unpretentious bar that feels like a respectful throwback to 1980s TrBeCa named “Liquor Store.”
Hey it worked the first time for over a decade! Dare to dream…

  4. Kings Pharmacy is a throwback to the days when local druggists really cared about and knew their and family personally. I’m glad to hear Kings takes care of the property surrounding their business as well as they take care of their customers. Kings, and all independent pharmacies, are being squeezed by chains, engulf-and-devour insurance companies, and mail-order “pharmacies.” It is worth the few extra dollars a month I may have to pay to get the personalized service and knowledge Jones offers.

  5. I’m a fan of Jones at Kings Pharmacy too.
    Very knowledgeable and helpful.
    Glad he has other fans!
