Seen & Heard: Starting to see the light?

STARTING TO SEE THE LIGHT??
T. reports that the scaffolding is down at 91 Leonard and the shroud is down at 396 Broadway at Walker. Or as he said, “Just think, only 74 scaffolds to go before Tribeca is free of the ‘green monsters’.” Sorry, Boston fans. And my daughter just noticed that the one at 261 Broadway at the corner of Warren – which I assumed was a permanent structure – is also down. Guess we will have to start bringing umbrellas for our walk to the 6. Now how about 23 Warren??

SUMMER EVENTS IN BPC PARKS
The Battery Park City Authority has released an exhaustive summer online event guide that you can filter by activity (they call it focus area) or date. There’s live music, fishing, participatory dances, the Swedish Midsummer Festival, community field day, and the Battery Dance Festival at Wagner, plus at least a dozen other events. See more here or scroll down to the bottom of that webpage to register for email event alerts.

THE SCENE AT TASTE OF BPC
The Trib had this slideshow of the people and food of the Taste of Battery Park City, held last weekend.

RUNNER’S HIGH — LITERALLY
As a healthy alternative to the traditional day of getting stoned, Come Back Daily on Broadway is hosting a free event called “A Runner’s High” on Saturday, April 20, from 3:30-5p. Open to all fitness levels, the group will run around Manhattan on a route that “celebrates the roots, routes and future of the cannabis culture in fitness.” Afterwards, runners will come back to the store to sample CBD products. The event is free with RSVP via Eventbrite.

VIEW OF A BIRD’S EYE
The peregrine falcon who has camped out on 55 Water has now laid four eggs, according to these good shots from Patch. The live streaming birdcam gets you the play-by-play.

  1. There is no intersection of Broadway and Beach. Perhaps you mean Broadway and Walker?

  2. And just when the sidewalk shed at 261 B’way comes down, one goes up at 270 B’way.

  3. And now, 258 Broadway is surrounded with sidewalk scaffolding. The DoB has apparently targeted the neighborhood.
