Where in (not quite) Tribeca?

Just your friendly neighborhood alligator (crocodile? do any New Yorkers know the difference?) making a break for it in a nearby doorway….

  1. 55 Liberty Street (Liberty Tower) at Nassau

  2. Yay! I finally got one! According to the AIA Guide, they’re alligators (the snouts are different than those of crocodiles).

  3. Gators have broad, rounded snouts.
    Crocks have tapered, thinner snouts.
(Grew up near the Everglades, saw gators frequently.)

  4. Alligators can stick their tongues out.
    Crocodiles cannot.
