Seen & Heard: Solidcore is open

SOLIDCORE IS OPEN
Happened by yesterday. At 261 Hudson just north of Broome (next to Whitman’s burgers, with its competing sandwich board that says “put bacon on it”). More on this TK when I get a chance to visit. (That’s manager Julie B. Go say hi.)

SCREENING SCREEN TIME
The Portfolio School will host a panel discussion on how parents and kids use technology at home and in schools on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 7:30p. The location is at LMHQ, the Downtown Alliance’s workshare space at 150 Broadway, 20th Floor. Tickets are $10 here.
The panelists are Anya Kamenetz, the education correspondent for NPR and the host of the podcast Life Kit for Parents; Nir Eyal, author of “Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products;” Scott Hagedorn, the CEO of Omnicom Media Group; Babur Habib, the co-founder of the school and Kno Inc, an ed-tech company which reimagined how students access content. 30 WARREN REVEALED
There is now even more of the façade revealed, but I liked this shot as workers started to peel away the shrouds on 30 Warren. The men are like notes on a staff. (That’s a precast concrete. So cool.)

GIORGIA HAS NEW DIGS
Giorgia, the lingerie shop that most recently shared space with Stella, has moved to 123 West Broadway in collaboration with their friends at A Uno.

ELPHIA BEAUTY CLOSED
The shop, which featured luxury skin care exfoliators and serums, has closed. It opened in November 2018 on Hudson at the corner of Beach. (Thanks to M. for the tip. I only walked by three times this week and failed to notice.)
