THE NOBU HOTEL EMPIRE EXPANDS
“Twenty-five years later, the Nobu empire includes not only 40 restaurants on six continents, but luxury hotels as well, with 20 set to open by the end of 2020. Two of the most exciting new additions are both in North America, although in quite disparate locations.” –Architectural Digest

MANAFORT LOFT FOR SALE BY MARSHAL
Direct from The Post: “While former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort rests his head in a federal prison in Pennsylvania — or, possibly within the next few weeks, the jail complex on Rikers Island — apartment hunters can pick up one of his old pads, a swank SoHo loft, for a cool $3.66 million.”

BARNES & NOBLE SOLD TO HEDGE FUND
Crain’s reports that “Barnes & Noble said Friday that it’s being acquired by Elliott Management for $6.50 per share, an approximately 9% percent premium to the company’s Thursday closing stock price. Elliott bought the U.K. bookseller Waterstones in June 2018.” So, what will happen to ours?

RENTS UP IN BPC
Battery Park City saw the highest rise in demand for rental apartments among Manhattan neighborhoods, according to StreetEasy’s Renter Demand Index.

COMPANION PIECE: GATEWAY TENANTS ORGANIZE
The Broadsheet reports that the Gateway Plaza Tenants Association (GPTA) is trying to build support for extended rent protections. “Our central priority is to advocate for stabilization for every current tenant, rather than just those who lived here in 2009, when the last deal was signed,” The Broadsheet quotes GPTA president Rosalie Joseph.
