DALLAS BRENNAN REXER VOTED INTO ACADEMY
Tribecan Dallas Brennan Rexer has been voted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as part of its latest class in the category of documentary. Rexer has been producing documentaries since 1998 and recently wrote and produced an episode of Netflix’s upcoming wrongful convictions documentary series. She story-produced the first two episodes of the Showtime documentary “The Fourth Estate,” and story-produced six episodes of the television documentary series “Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio.” She has a huge CV, but to single out a few more: she produced Christy Turlington Burns’ “No Woman, No Cry” about maternal health in Bangladesh, Tanzania, Guatemala, and the USA; and Carol Dysinger’s “Camp Victory, Afghanistan” about the American National Guard soldiers mentoring young Afghan National Army recruits.

A native Mainer, Rexer is currently executive producing a documentary about the artist Robert Indiana and the drama that consumed a small island town in Maine after his death.

MICHELE LOPRIORE AT THE OCULUS MALL
Michele Lopriore, a high-end women’s shoe brand based in Milan, Italy, will take over a space at the Oculus mall for the next year at least. The flagship store is in Miami, and the designer’s son, Mike, has opened this one. The hot take seems to be the brand’s sneakers, and the latest collection features printed python leather mixed with printed crocodile and suedes. Prices range from $139 to $475.
