Seen & Heard: Action at Torly Kid space already

More soon on the plan, but the rumor is that it’s Klein Epstein Parker (no confirmation on that yet). Thanks to K. (above) and F. (below) for the snaps.

PAUL HOVITZ LEAVES CB1 AFTER THREE DECADES
From The Broadsheet: “Paul Hovitz has stepped down from Community Board 1, where he has served as vice chairman for three years, and previously presided as chair of the Youth & Education Committee…He drew decades of experience as a special education instructor in the city’s public school system.” He served on the board for 27 years, to be precise. That is dedication!

RACINES ADDED TO TOP WINE RESTAURANT LIST
Racines has been included in Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants in America for 2019. The restaurant, which started five years ago, features small organic, biodynamic and natural domains and lesser known regions of France such as the Loire and the Jura. The restaurant’s owners also pick producers who have a commitment to careful farming and natural biodiversity and who use no systemic chemicals in the vineyard and little or no additives in the cellar.

TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR BPC
City DOT finally installed a traffic light at the intersection of South End Avenue and Rector Place. CB1 has been requesting one for years.

NEIGHBORS KEEP VIGILANT ON PARKING
I’d like to think it worked the last time. Neighbors have once again prodded some illegal parkers to start towing (get it?) the line. This one on Greenwich with armed forces plates, which I imagine open some doors. Thanks to M. for the pic.
