In the News: Impossible burger getting increasingly impossible

GEE WHIZ RUNNING SHORT ON IMPOSSIBLE
The Post reports that restaurants across the country – including Gee Whiz — are not able to source the “impossible burger.” The vegan treat is made from soy and potato for the protein, coconut and sunflower oils for the fat and the sizzle on the grill, and for taste, a molecule called heme that the company makes from fermenting genetically engineered yeast. POSTMASTERS IN ITALIAN
From ARTNews: “New York’s Postmasters Gallery, headquartered in a space in the city’s Tribeca neighborhood, will unveil its first international outpost this month in Rome. The new space, located near the Colosseum and helmed by Paulina Bebecka, the gallery’s director-at-large in Europe, will open on June 20 with an exhibition of haiku paintings by Rafaël Rozendaal.”

ALOFT HOTEL BREAKING GROUND IN FIDI
New York YIMBY reports that excavation has started at 50 Trinity Place for the 28-story Aloft Hotel. “The building will yield 173 rooms and 77,310 square feet of newly built space… Peter Poon Architects is the designer of the tower while FIT Investment Corporation is the developer. The site was previously purchased for $15 million from Sam Chang in 2012.”
