RIVER PROJECT HONORS FOUNDER CATHY DREW
The River Project, the marine science field station based in Hudson River Park, held its annual dinner cruise fundraiser this week, and honored its retiring founder, longtime local Cathy Drew, as well as Deputy Borough President Matthew Washington, and physical oceanographer and environmental educator Julie Pullen. The organization was founded 33 years ago at Pier 26, before the park existed, to explore and celebrate the Hudson River. The video above tells the story. Guests included Helena Durst or the Durst Organization, Clay Hiles of the Hudson River Foundation for Science and Environmental Research and Borough President Gale Brewer, in photo below. You can still donate to the organization and its works here.
