In the News: After more than two decades, Barry Manilow’s musical finally gets a New York run

BARRY MANILOW MUSICAL IN BATTERY PARK CITY
Barry Manilow’s musical “Harmony” will open at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in February 2020. The musical “chronicles the true story of a vaudeville singing group in 1920s Germany — the Comedian Harmonists, a sextet of both Jews and gentiles — whose rise in fame collided with the Nazis’ rise to power,” said the Times. The musical itself has had three other runs since 1997, but this is the first time it will premier in New York.

MUSEUM OF FUTURE EXPERIENCES REVIEW

MONICA KING OPENING A TRIBECA GALLERY
Monica King is joining the slew of new galleries that are opening in Tribeca, Artnet reports. The first show at Monica King Contemporary will run from September 6 through October 12, and feature multimedia and performance artist April Marten. King formerly worked at Pace and Paul Kasmin.

83 MAIDEN LANE IS FULL, THANKS TO WEWORK 
Real Estate Weekly reports that WeWork will occupy floors three through six of 83 Maiden Lane, which means the building is now full. The lease is for 15 years and provides the company with 56,000 square feet of space. Helmsley Spear facilitated the deal.
