FREE RETAIL SPACE FOR A MAKER
Tania Anthony, who owns T-Pop Shop, an e-commerce consignment second-hand clothing business located at 59 Franklin, is offering free space to a local vendor in the front of her showroom on Sundays from noon to 4, starting Sept. 15. She seeking “budding small business crafts makers (preferably from the neighborhood) — jewelry makers, candle makers etc.” Contact her here, or thorough Facebook. TARGET STILL IN PROCESS
A rep from Target said the former Chobani space should be fully completed early this fall, though customers can already shop in the new area. It’s scheduled to have more home goods and seasonal stuff.

283 WEST BWAY FOR SALE
The six-story mixed use building is for sale, delivered empty, for $15 million, and thanks to G. for the heads up. The building – on the east side of the street between Canal and Lispenard, just north of Pepolino — was built in 1915.

    These are the kinds of things that the City and the State (and Con Edison) would expedite if they really cared about vacant retail stores. Make it less impossible to start and run a restaurant or retail business, and there will be fewer vacancies.
