Seen & Heard: Bubby’s opens this weekend

BUBBY’S OPENS SATURDAY
And this just in from the Good News Department: after several months of renovations, Bubby’s will open this Saturday, Nov. 2. Yay. Stay tuned for a peek inside.

WALKER’S IS BACK AND OPEN
The bar and restaurant has been inspected and is back up and running. Phew.

TRIBECA THERAPY IS 10!
Happy anniversary to Matt Lundquist at TriBeCa Therapy: in 10 years his practice has gone from a solo operation (just him in a small office at Broadway and Reade) to one with 10 therapists — including five hired this year. (Here he is with some of the krewe posing for their album cover on the roof of 79 Chambers.) The practice does a lot of work with adults around career and relationship issues, depression, anxiety and trauma; as well as couples therapy and work with kids and teens. And bit by bit they have been expanding the office; by the end of the year they will have the whole floor.

THE VIEW FROM THE EXECUTIVE SUITE
The penthouse at 100 Barclay is for sale for $40 million, and while it doesn’t really count as a loft peeping, since this space has never been lived in and is only decorated for scale purposes, the views (in three directions!) and the space (14,539 square feet, making it one of the largest residences in the city) is just so incredible, I had to share. Some part of the space are built out, but the raw ones are the most interesting. The second floor feels like an attic in a skyscraper and it is completely unfinished with exposed pipes and vents. And the “living room” has concrete floors that call out for roller blades. These were once the Verizon corporate offices, hence the 22-foot ceilings and the 33rd floor views. And the windows allow little peeks at the building’s 1927 façade, if you look carefully.
