In the News: Power brokering at Yves

MAKING DEALS AT YVES
President Obama, Tim Cook and Robert DeNiro grabbed dinner at Yves last week, and while the Daily Mail has lots of pics, I have the bird’s-eye from C., taken from the Fischer Mills building.

GYLLENHAAL TO THE RESCUE
Jake Gyllenhaal rescued a dog who escaped his leash from the middle of the intersection at Laight and Hudson, and Page Six had the exclusive. But they made the grave error of calling the dog a Dalmation, when it was in fact a Great Dane, so The Cut had at it too. In defense of The Post: the beast was spotted.

NEW OFFICES FOR TRIBECA PEDIATRICS
The Commercial Observer reports that Michel Cohen has bought a four story historic building at 107 South Street for $6 million. “The landmarked property, which has sat vacant for at least a decade, is situated between Peck Slip and Beekman Street and is across from the former Fulton Fish Market and Pier 17. Tribeca Pediatrics will gut renovate the 1900s-era property and restore the brick façade, Suarez said. The upper floors will house its corporate offices while the ground floor, sized at roughly 1,800 square feet, will be leased to a retail tenant.”

KANYE WEST AT THE OCULUS IN THE WEE HOURS
Patch reported that Kanye West and his choir used the Oculus as a backdrop for the release of his new album, “Jesus is King.” Some of these videos were shot at 3:30a as part of his Sunday Service top-secret weekly concerts. (You can hear the choir – The Samples – singing in the background.)

  1. Any idea what’s going on with the construction project at the corner of Murray and W. Broadway?
