Seen & Heard: David Weeks adds Stellar furniture

DAVID WEEKS STUDIO + STELLAR WORKS JOINT VENTURE
David Weeks Studio, whose sculptural lighting can be spotted at lofts around the neighborhood, has joined forces with Stellar Works, the heritage furniture designers who merge Asian and European sensibilities, for a joint retail venture opening Nov. 14 at the studio at 38 Walker. The opening reception is from 6 to 9. The storefront will continue to be a space for installations and curated exhibits.

TRAINER OSCAR SMITH RELEASES BOOK
Local trainer Oscar Smith, whose O-Diesel studio is at 45 White Street, has released his first book titled “Natural Strength,” recording his journey of self-exploration to help readers overcome fitness-related plateaus. “This book is about opening yourself to new things and reconnecting with your inner child,” he said. Smith has had his studio here since 2003 and lived here in the early 2000s, when he fell in love with the area. Find Smith at 917-335-8103.

GETTING DIRTY AT HRP
The Hudson River Park Friends got some help from local folks to plant bulbs at Pier 25 last week as part of the Bulbtober Fest. Watch for the results come spring.
