In the News: ‘Billions’ apartment is up for grabs

BILLIONS DIGS FOR SALE
Roger and Joan Perlmutter are selling their SkyLoft apartment at 145 Hudson that was featured in the show “Billions,” is in the same building as the apartment in the show “Billions,” only this is the penthouse, according to Real Estate Weekly.

AND ALSO AT 145 HUDSON…
James Carpenter and his design firm get a story in The Times for staying put for 20 years at 145 Hudson – as if that is such a sacrifice (I love that building and used to visit suppliers there when I was a print broker). “Though several upper floors of the 16-story building, constructed in 1929, have been refurbished into sumptuously minimal condominiums (Carpenter designed the famed glass cube penthouse addition on the top), his own 5,000-square-foot fourth-floor space retains a craggy analog feel. Carpenter, 70, is the longest remaining commercial tenant in the building, and his studio’s rows of white workstations are punctuated by exposed concrete columns and vast awning windows.”

RENTS HIT RECORD HIGHS, ESPECIALLY HERE
Median rents are at record highs in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, according to the August 2019 StreetEasy Market Reports, while sales inventory growth has slowed and home prices have dropped or plateaued.

FALL FEST AT LELA ROSE
Vogue covered the bridal fashion week show of designer Lela Rose at her home here, where she was also celebrating a new accessories collaboration with “it-brand” Mignonne Gavigan. “During cocktail hour, a string quartet played while models stood on a suspended platform, showing off the latest Lela Rose designs. Rose’s playful Norwich terrier weaved in between stilettoed feet to the delight of guests.”

  1. The skyloft apartment for sale is actually the one just below the penthouse featured in Billions. (Not the penthouse)
