Seen & Heard: US Soccer women get their name in stone

US WOMEN’S SOCCER IS WRITTEN IN STONE
The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team will get their name in granite at the northeast corner of Broadway and Park Place today in a ceremony at noon. The team’s star midfielder Carli Lloyd will unveil the marker on Broadway — the northernmost one in a long line down the canyon of heroes. This was only the second time in history a team of female athletes received a ticker-tape parade and the other one was…the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. You can read a history of all the plaques here.

CHIKARASHI ISSO OPENS IN FIDI
Chikarashi Isso has opened at 38 Rector, and Eater has this about the third in a series of counter-service Japanese poke restaurants: “they’ve created a menu that’s meant to be highly seasonal kappo cuisine, a Japanese style of cooking where the meal is left entirely up to the chef — though a style that’s less formal than kaiseki. Chikarashi Isso’s opening menu currently offers fried blowfish, Sasso chicken yakitori, and wok-fried lobster with soft-shell shrimp and chile, plus noodle and rice options to pair with the small plates.” More TK.
