Harry’s Italian is going Greek at former North End Grill

The owners of Harry’s Italian have scored the lease at the former North End Grill inside the Conrad Hotel and will open Anassa, an “authentic” Greek restaurant, in June. After all, they are in fact Greek.

“Everyone has asked us to do a Greek restaurant, but this will be our first,” said Paul Lamas at the CB1 meeting where they were approved for a liquor license last week. (There are two other Harry’s — on Gold Street and at Rockefeller Plaza.) His partner in Harry’s is Peter Poulakakos, and they are teaming with the owners of the existing Anassas on East 60th Street and Astoria as operating partners. (The pictures here are from the 60th Street location.)

The set-up will be the same as North End Grill with the open kitchen, bar area with seating, large dining room and windows that slide open, but with the addition of a fish display. The license is for 11a to 2a on weekends, 11a to 1a on weekdays, and CB1 suggested they can leave the windows open till 10p on weekdays, 11p on weekends.
