Seen & Heard: Journalism on paper, oh my!

DON’T BURY THE LEDE.
An interactive art installation about the history of New York City journalism has been set up at 321 Canal (between Greene and Mercer). Haven’t got up there yet, so running this in the meantime. It’s up till Jan. 30. Set in a 1970s newsroom, the gallery examines the historical presence and role of journalism and includes a fully-stocked newsstand with current and vintage newspapers, books, magazines, and prints. Monday – Saturday 11a-7p

GROUP SHOW AT ALEXANDER AND BONIN
Alexander and Bonin has a group show up through Feb. 22 and it includes one of my fave South Bronx artists, John Ahearn. The gallery is at 47 Walker.

PITCH PERFECT FAN ALERT
Tribeca Performing Arts Center will host a celebration of contemporary a cappella, conceived and arranged by Deke Sharon, vocal producer of Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off, featuring four internationally recognized, award-winning ensembles. Sunday, March 8, at 3p. Tickets are here.

MAKE YOUR OWN COMICS
Learn how to make your own comics at the New York Public Library’s Battery Park City branch on Thursdays, Jan. 23 (TODAY!) and Jan. 30 at 4p. The class will train kids on Pixton, a popular and easy-to-use online comic and storyboard program. For kids ages 5 to 12. First come, first served. Free with your library card.
