Loft Peeping: Franklin Street loft

The Cut ran a feature of this Franklin Street loft decorated by Kevin Dumais and it caught my eye for its cool exposed beams. Of course, you have to hope you don’t have upstairs neighbors…

From A.: The building is 155 Franklin, which Taylor Swift owns most of, and the seller was Orlando Bloom, who only lasted there year.

This from Dumais’ team: This 2,800 square foot loft is owned by a young couple who bought it a year after they married and did a full gut renovation. It was originally a dark, moody bachelor pad formerly owned by an A list actor and hadn’t been touched since the ’90s. Kevin kept the exposed ceiling and painted the red brick walls white. The space is a mix of RH, vintage and custom furniture pieces. It has three bedrooms including an office/guest room and nursery.

To break up the loft space, Kevin installed glass doors with drapes to soften the look and create a bedroom. The bedroom has suede panel wallpaper and an RH bed that Kevin draped with fabric that looks almost gold on the headboard. The bathroom is a nod to the wife’s Greek heritage. Another installation by Kevin was the custom millwork buffet as it was important for the clients to be able to entertain. Kevin also designed oak millwork and blue shaker style cabinetry in the kitchen which also has a 14 foot calacatta tucci island and a bronze metallic hood above the stove.

Note to self: paint kitchen cabinets blue.

  1. I think that’s the place that Orlando Bloom had at 155 Franklin.
