BASEBALL FEVER
Yes, it’s plastic but it’s *is* green and it’s still the new fields local ballplayers have been hoping for over many a year now. As long as the weather stays clear (meaning, no snow storms) it looks like it can be done in time for little league season.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS IN CHELSEA
Telly Hatzigeorgiou and his family — Anahid, Aris and Athan — celebrated 20 years of Slate, his restaurant, bar and pool hall in Chelsea. That’s actually 140 in NYC restaurant years. His restaurant group also owns Clinton Hall — named for Castle Clinton in Battery Park — in Fidi on Washington Street, as well as another five venues across the city.

THE LATEST ON THE GREEK
James sent word that he spotted The Greek in Pacer, the listing of federal court cases: it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and the hearing is next month. Bummer for all involved.

JAZZ AT THE HANG
Church Street School for Music & Art will host The Hang – a weekly music event — on Friday, Feb. 21 from 6 – 8p. This week will feature women leaders in jazz with Marta Sanchez and her quintet. $10 suggested donation includes free drinks. Church Street School is at 41 White between Church and Broadway.

TRIBECA MEET & GREET
The Tribeca Alliance Partnership will hold its monthly meetup for neighborhood businesses on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8p at Douglas Elliman, 140 Franklin. All neighbors welcome.
