Seen & Heard: Greenmarket updates

GREENMARKETS STILL GOING
Greenmarkets around the city are still open, though ICYMI the Wednesday Tribeca market is suspended, as is the market at the Oculus, Bowling Green Tuesday & Thursday Greenmarket and City Hall Park Tuesday & Friday Greenmarket. You can check here for updates, or on social media @grownyc_manhattan. Also some growers are offering a variety of ways to purchase their products, from allowing customers to pre-order and pick up at a market, to direct home delivery and shipping products from their online stores. All of that information is available at GrowNYC Greenmarket Alternative Sales Directory 2020.

ZOOM MEETING WITH THE FALCONS
For a truly relaxing activity, spend some time watching the peregrine falcons at 55 Water on their birdcam.

BUTHE AT ALEXANDER AND BONIN
Alexander and Bonin have a virtual tour of the work of Michael Buthe (1944-1994) — paintings, drawings, sculpture and painted photographs. The works in this exhibition were made between 1968 and 1994 and represent four periods of the German artist’s oeuvre.

PET PREPAREDNESS PLAN
Best Friends Animal Society is offering pet preparedness plans for dog and cat owners so that pets can be cared for if their owner gets sick or cannot leave the house. Best Friends also offers remote access to veterinary consultation services through their Vet Access app. The plan includes:
A two-week supply of your pet’s food, medications and additional necessities, such as cat litter
A carrier for small animals or special diet-related treats and supplements.
Updated vaccination records, a medication schedule (if relevant) and contact information for your veterinarian’s office.
Detailed pet care notes, including feeding and walking routines and important notes about your pet’s behavior

  1. Here’s another great option that most people are unaware of. The Fulton Stall Market at 91 South Street (just south of Fulton) has lots of fresh locally farmed, foods and meats. They are open Monday – Saturday from 11:30 – 4:00 PM. Here is their website: https://fultonstallmarket.org

  2. The fruit cart at the corner of Mulberry and Canal is back. They sell fresh fruits and Asian produce. It’s open every day. No lines.

  3. I’m so happy to hear from Robert Janz!
