Get Fancy: Takeout taken to a new level

Some of the neighborhood’s most celebrated restaurants are doing takeout, and my guess is there won’t be a shred of styrofoam in sight. (I do miss the takeout packaging from Takahachi; I wanted to save those boxes.) A $38 lobster ravioli might not fit the mood of the times, but sparing yourself another night of homemade chicken and broccoli comes with a price. And when you watch the video below of the mocha ice cream with chocolate cake, strawberry compote and Italian meringue that Atera is serving up this weekend, you may fork it over.

The menu at Atera, which started takeout last week, is released on Tuesday (from what I can tell) for pickup on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This week: beer braised chicken, yellowfin tuna tartare and white asparagus with poached egg. Email them at orders@ateranyc.com or direct message on Instagram. (The website has no updates.)

Marc Forgione served up some brick chicken last week, and tonight he’s serving chili lobsters (they are already sold out). Each order for the lobster was $79 and came with texas toast and a bottle of Montoni Nero d’Avola. Watch Instagram or maybe check back here: www.marcforgione.com/online-ordering.

And the latest (as A. said, *record scratch*) Nobu will be offering takeout starting Friday, May 15, Wednesday through Sunday from 4:30 to 8:30. There’s classic sushi, Nobu specials like omakase for two and black cod miso and rock shrimp creamy spicy. Use Postmates or call 212-219-0500.
