In the News: Ode to the Brooklyn Bridge

BROOKLYN BRIDGE WALKING TOUR
Times art and architecture critic Michael Kimmelman takes readers on a virtual walk of the bridge in prose with Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, who have an eponymous architecture, landscape and urban design firm at 200 Hudson at Canal and have lived since the early 1990s in Brooklyn Heights. They like to walk to work.

SUSAN ROTHENBERG DEAD AT 75
Former Tribecan Susan Rothenberg, a trailblazing painter who left her mark on the art world by reintroducing figurative and symbolic images in the minimalist abstraction era of the ’70s, died at age 75. Thanks to J. for sending the obituary from ArtForum; all the other art magazines covered her death as well. AF reported that Barack Obama collects her work and had her painting “Butterfly” hanging in the Treaty Room at the White House.

PRINCIPALS CHAT ABOUT REMOTE LEARNING
The Trib covered a Zoom meeting of the education committees of both CB1 and CB2, where the principals of PS/IS 276, the Peck Slip School, the Morton Street school, PS 41, PS 130 and Lower Manhattan Community Middle School covered topics like the amount of online teaching, grades and planning for the fall.
