Seen & Heard: It’s a girl!

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT, SOCIAL DISTANCE STYLE
What a wonderful relief to get this pic from N., who spied this message taped to a window of what I think is 212 North End Avenue, overlooking the fields. It’s one of the only cheery pictures I’ve gotten in weeks (well, save the one coming up next…). Congratulations to the whole family from Tribeca!

PROM, WITH SMALLER DATES
The girls of Girl Scout Troop 3140 decided to surprise their community service volunteer, Genevieve Lillie, and host a photo op in Battery Park City, giving her a chance to wear the dress. It may not be exactly what a high school senior had in mind for prom, but during quarantine, it sure counts as a night out.

SMITH & MILLS IS OPEN
I think this is new? But either way, a welcome sight.

NYPD PREPS TO SHUT DOWN VARICK
The barricades are positioned on Varick outside the 1st Precinct in case protestors decide to come that way. A couple of nights ago some of the police cars were vandalized, so that block may be shut to any kind of foot traffic this week. The precinct block is already closed to car and foot traffic.
