A short bike around the neighborhood — then and now

When all the neighborhood’s storefronts boarded themselves up during the early days of the marches (and the curfew — remember that? hard to believe we were once under martial law in this town) I took a quick tour by bike from Duane and Greenwich, up Hudson and down West Broadway and back to Reade and Hudson. With nearly all the plywood now going back to the plywood farm in New Jersey, I took another tour yesterday. Didn’t hit all the hotspots, but it is still a relief to see the transition back to the more normal than less.

(And as a commenter pointed out, that is indeed the Tiny’s curbside seating, in front of Summers Day Cafe. So of course it had to be pink.)
