TRIBECA GALLERY DISTRICT WALK
The burgeoning cluster of galleries in east Tribeca will host special hours on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 11 to 7 as part of the Tribeca Gallery Walk effort. See a map plus the list of galleries and addresses here. For the December iteration, participating galleries have created videos to give a deeper dive into one work in their current exhibition. Masks are required for entry, and the number of visitors will be controlled at each gallery to ensure safe social distancing.
TRIBECA GIRLFRIENDS OUTDOOR TRUNK SHOW
ICYM the previous mention, four local makers — Mary Jaeger, Nicki Francis, Rachael Elderfield and Wendy Wintcentsen — will be selling their wares on Harrison Street in front of Terroir today from noon to 5. There’s textiles, homemade chocolates, skin care products and jewelry from Lola. Stop by at least to say hi!
DESSERT AS ART
Had to share this amazing looking pumpkin cranberry tart from Deborah Racicot, the pastry chef at Locanda Verde.
JEAN-GEORGES COOKS FOR THANKSGIVING
Howard Hughes’ Seaport District group and Jean-Georges Vongerichten prepared 500 meals and delivered them to residents of NYCHA’s Rutgers Houses on Thanksgiving. The recipients got roasted turkey breast, turkey legs, cornbread stuffing, roasted sweet potatoes, cranberry marmalade and sautéed brussels sprouts. (That’s my picture for when I happened to bump into Jean-Georges recently at the Seaport.)
