Seen & Heard: Holiday events starting this week

YOU-KNOW-WHO IS COMING TO TOWN
The Friends of Washington Market Park, which traditionally hosts visits with Santa around this time of year, will instead have Santa make rounds of the neighborhood via pedicab on Saturday, Dec. 12, so he can see and be seen. His route will start at noon at the park entrance, then go down and around Warren, up Church, down West Broadway, up Hudson and down Greenwich and around again, ending for one lap of the park at around 1.

TEVLIG HELG!
180 the Store will host a Swedish Fest this Saturday from 1 to 4p at 180 Duane. They will be serving glogg and hot chocolate for the kids and partnering with the Skal Cafe in Brooklyn, which will serve æbleskivers (pop-overs), risalamande (rice pudding) and smørrebrød (small sandwiches). The idea is to provide a little cheer for the neighborhood!

HANUKKAH EVENTS AT CHABAD
Chabad of Tribeca is hosting a string of events for the holiday starting on Thursday, Dec. 10, with a candle lighting ceremony outside Washington Market Park, through the 17th. There are virtual scavenger hunts, a disco night and other events for teens and tweens, including packaging gifts for seniors. See the full schedule here.

…AND MORE FOR HANUKKAH AT TAMID
There are also eight nights of virtual events with Tamid, starting with a singalong on Thursday, Dec. 10. As the week goes on, there’s grandkid and grandparent bingo, a comedian and a night just for college kids. See the calendar here.
