Seen & Heard: Slow down

SPEED TRAP ALERT
In highway department news, a local family (of speeders, apparently) reports there is a new speed trap outside the Battery Park tunnel underpass right at West Thames Street as you’re heading north. The camera will get you if you are going above 25, and this comes on good authority since they have already gotten three tickets. Beware if you are the type to come flying out of the tunnel to make that first light.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER SPRUCES UP BROOKFIELD
The new mural on the Brookfield entrances (both on the marina side and the Vesey Street side, up through March) is the work of Reyna Noriega, a Miami-based visual artist, author and educator who works across a variety of mediums. She also focuses on women-centric themes, with a goal towards uplifting women to help them feel represented and empowered.
