Tribeca’s Kitchen is back open for delivery

Tribeca’s Kitchen, which was forced to disassemble its elaborate outdoor seating area due to a ConEd gas leak in the street, has reopened but this time for pickup and delivery only. The menu has been revamped by a new chef — Jack Logue — who came from The Clocktower restaurant near Madison Square Park. The restaurant now also has a beverage manager, Tom Garvin, and an executive pastry chef, Mina Pizarro.

They first opened in July, only to have to close the patio on Oct. 1. They are also doing significant renovations to the interior, though with indoor dining now shutdown there’s not much of a rush to open.

Hours are noon to 8p, and they will also be taking orders for Christmas for a prix fixe menu delivered on the 23rd or 24th. They also have house-made ice cream pints, gourmet popcorn and assorted holiday cookie tins. Everything is online at tribecaskitchen.com or at GrubHub.

Of course owner Andy Koutsoudakis Jr. is reminded every day of the death of his father, who died from the coronavirus in March. He reopened for delivery on the nine month anniversary of when he first learned that his mother, who did recover, had a fever. “What followed every day thereafter to the present has been nothing short of a catastrophe for us, as it has for the world in ways we never imagined possible…It has been the most challenging year of my life in every possible way.”

“The 11th of March was a day that marked the beginning of the darkest days of my life. I choose to set a new mark and view the 11th of December as the beginning of the brightest days of our lives.”
