In the News: Chinatown left out of city grants

CHINATOWN TOO WEALTHY FOR GRANTS?
Gothamist picked up a story from SinovisionNet that shows that parts of Chinatown and Two Bridges were left out of a grant program for storefront businesses in lower income areas. The city somehow could not look closer than the zip codes 10013 and 10038, which include parts of Tribeca and Fidi but also census tract 29, by example, which has a median household income of a little over $27,000 and where 47% have used food stamp benefits in the past year.
