Vigil tomorrow at the Museum of Jewish Heritage

In response to the tying of a Confederate flag to the doors of the Museum of Jewish Heritage, students, parents and teachers from PS-IS 276 will hold a vigil tomorrow, Jan. 14, at 4p in front of the museum. The museum is at 36 Battery Place. The flag was hung last Friday, and police have yet to make an arrest, yet they do now have some surveillance video. Here’s the police report:

On Friday, January 08, 2021, at approximately 0215 hours, police were alerted to an incident of harassment in front of 36 Battery Place. Officers were informed by a 58-year-old male that three unidentified individuals were seen on video surveillance putting a flag on the front door of the location. The individuals fled the location to parts unknown. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force. The individuals are described as males with a light complexion.

  1. I am glad a vigil is being held. We need all the light we can get.
