Babesta will leave Brookfield Place

Babesta, the kids gear store opened in 2007 by Tribecan Jenn Cattaui, will close its Brookfield outlet but consolidate its business at the Warren Street store. Cattaui started the company online in 2004, opened on Warren three years later, and then opened a second location in Brookfield in 2015.

“It’s been a long year hoping that the effects of COVID would be shorter term, and that we were rounding a bend, but in the end, we had to make this painful decision as the business couldn’t support the prolonged disruption,” Cattaui wrote in an email. “We were so honored to be part of the Brookfield mall amongst such a world class array of stores. It was truly a privilege.”

Temporary hours on Warren are Monday to Friday, 11a to 6p, and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6p. They are also available for phone orders, online orders and video chat.

  1. FYI, Plaza M Spa has signage in the window at the former Babesta location at Brookfield stating it will open there this summer.
