Seen & Heard: Sarabeth’s adds curbside seating

SARABETH’S GETS SERIOUS ON THE SIDEWALK
Sarabeth’s, which till recently had just its usual sidewalk seating, now has a robust outdoor setup curbside.

KIDS THESE DAYS, MAKING MASKS
Local teen Nina Venter and her friend Niko Sansevere — both students at Columbia Secondary School — have put Nina’s sewing machine to work making tie-dyed masks. (Her grandmother taught her when she was a young child.) They dye the fabrics themselves and sell the masks along with a hair scrunchie. The plan is to also donate surgical masks to the Bowery Mission with each purchase. Purchase them here.

NEW YEAR’S ICE AT BROOKFIELD
Not to be outdone by Duane Park, Brookfield will unveil a ice sculpture on the plaza for the Lunar New Year starting Friday. Viewing hours are Friday, Feb. 12, from 3 to 8, and Saturday, Feb. 13, from 10a to 3p. The sculpture will be created by the NYC-based art collective Okamoto Studio.

EVEN HORACE IS MASKED UP
J. sent this shot of Horace Greeley in City Hall Park, masked and by nature, six feet above our heads.
