Seen & Heard: Signs of Purim in Tribeca

DULCE DE LECHE HAMANTASCHEN ANYONE?
How do you know it’s Purim? Alternate side parking is suspended (yay), there’s a synagogue in a parking lot on Warren Street, and Duane Park Patisserie is baking dulce de leche hamantaschen.

JCP AND CHAMBERS STREET WINE MASHUP
And on Saturday at 8p, JCP and Chambers Street Wines take the lessons of the Talmud seriously with a Zoom wine tasting with local wine producer Bruce Schneider and Yarden brand manager Cody Stephenson. They will be tasting Daisy Sauvignon Blanc “Return & Reuse” 2019 (CA); Yarden Chardonnay 2018 (Israel); and Schneider & Bieler Cabernet Franc Le Breton 2018 (Finger Lakes, NY) — all available at Chambers Street Wines. As the Talmud teaches, “one must become intoxicated with wine on Purim until one does not know how to distinguish between Haman (the story’s villain) and Mordechai (the hero).” RSVP here.
