RALLY FOR IN-PERSON SCHOOLING
City Council candidate Maud Maron is organizing a rally to reopen schools on Saturday, March 13, 11:30a, at the Tweed Courthouse. She has included a couple of speakers, including the coach for Cardozo High School’s basketball team. They are advocating for an end to the two-case rule which closes any school for two unrelated covid cases in the building, and end to the 65 square foot rule, which mandates 8 feet social distance and limits the number of children who can go to school five days a week. They also want the mayor to allow families another chance to opt into in-person learning.

  1. Good thing Maud has her epediomology degree and medical license to know what’s really best for our kids. Oh wait?

    • Apologies but I think it’s quite clear that remote learning is not best for our kids (or parents for that matter). With teachers getting vaccinated very quickly and our president saying that every willing adult will have access to a vaccine by May, I’m not sure why we cannot have children back in school in person full time.

      • While it’s obvious that learning in a classroom is better than remote, how does Maud expect to add more classroom space to keep social distancing, hire and train more teachers, and get the vaccine approved to children? Sorry, I’ll rely on the experts for their guidance not an aspiring politician
